Welcome to The Forest Academy

A s the Principal of the Forest Academy since May 2010, it is an honour to serve our local community in ensuring all of our young people thrive at school. We are on a journey of rapid improvement as part of the BMAT Trust, and I am very fortunate to have such talented staff and students working with me; every person in the school is a key part of our community, starting with the youngest in Year 7, as they begin their seven year journey in school, right through to year 13, where they will embark on their journey into the world as young, confident adults.

Our school supports, encourages and challenges every individual to be the very best that they can be and we are rightly ambitious for their aspirations and achievements. We want all to have the personal qualities, skills, experience and qualifications to be a success in the next stage of their life. Our fundamental belief is that each student only gets one chance of secondary education and we must make it the very best it can be. The school is a uniquely welcoming environment, of which all are proud.

Yours sincerely,

Will Thompson – Principal

Summer Term 2017

As we approach the end of a busy and highly successful term just a few thoughts and reminders:
  • Homework: Please remember to check the SMHW web site link for any final homework’s and summer projects. If for any reason you have lost you log in details please inform reception.

  • Staff at The Forest Academy are always keen to meet with Parents and Carers to provide support and advice. To ensure we are available to meet with you please make an appointment in advance so that the staff you wish to see are aware you are coming to the school.

  • If for any reason you need information or support over the summer holiday please check the school website in the first instance for relevant information.

  • Please remember that when we return to school students will need winter uniform. The opening hours for the uniform shop will be available on the website by mid August.

  • Finally we wish our Year 11,12 and 13 students the best of luck for their examinations results in August. Return to school arrangements will be on the school website.
