Jewellery and Make-up

No excessive jewellery or make up is to be worn in school. Small earrings and studs are acceptable. The general rule is that if you can fit your small finger in an earring it’s too big. For health, safety and security reasons, nose and facial rings, tongue and eyebrow studs and large jewellery are not allowed. Students will be asked to remove or cover them with plaster whilst in school.

School exercise books

These will be issued for each subject. If an exercise book is lost or damaged due to neglect, the student is required to replace it at a cost of 30p for a small book and 50p for an A4 exercise book. Correction fluid (e.g. Tippex etc.) is not allowed by the Exam Boards and is not permitted in school. Exam Boards now insist candidates write in black ink or black ballpoint.

Security

Students have been reminded that all valuable property should be left at home. The school does not accept responsibility for lost items and will not search for the following items if they are stolen: personal stereos/CD players, mobile phones, MP3 players, I-Pods, computer games and jewellery. These items should not be brought into school and are carried at the students’ own risk if they do. If these items are used inappropriately in school, they will be subject to confiscation. Skateboards, scooters and skates should not be brought to school.Bikes may be ridden to school and locked in the bicycle shed in the front car park.
