The PE department at the Forest Academy are committed to creating a curriculum that offers the opportunity for students to develop both personally and socially. Students work as individuals, in groups and in teams, developing concepts of fairness and of personal and social responsibility. They take on different roles and responsibilities, including the range of experiences that physical education offers, they learn how to be effective in competitive, creative and challenging situations. We aim to offer a wide range of activities that allow students to make informed choices about participation outside and beyond school years. We are also committed to supporting our students to have a greater understanding of the value of healthy and active lifestyles.

We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that offers the opportunity for every child to make progress in all areas of PE. Students are encouraged to develop and refine their skills both practically and theoretically, taking on various roles and responsibilities within the lesson. Students following the BTEC PE course at The Forest Academy are expected to be greatly involved and committed to supporting the school extra-curricular programme.
