Redbridge Borough Athletics Championships
Students from Years 7 to 10 proudly represented The Forest Academy at the Redbridge Athletics Championships, held at Ashton Playing Fields across two competition days. Year 7 and Year 8 students competed on Wednesday 10th June, followed by Year 9 and Year 10 students on Wednesday 17th June.
Throughout both competitions, our students demonstrated excellent commitment, determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship, competing against athletes from across the borough.
There were a number of impressive individual and team performances across both track and field events, with several students successfully progressing through heats to reach multiple finals. This reflects the hard work they have been putting in during lessons and training, as well as their resilience in demanding competitive environments.
All students should be extremely proud of the way they represented the school, both on and off the track. Their positive attitude, encouragement of one another, and willingness to work as a team were a real credit to themselves and the school community.
We are delighted to celebrate five medal-winning performances:
• Gold Medal in the Year 7 Girls’ Shot Put= Imani Rasheed
• Bronze Medal in the Year 7 Girls’ Javelin=Alexia Liverpool
• Silver Medal in the Year 8 Girls’ Shot Put=Iyana-Kris Edwards
• Silver Medal in the Year 9 Boys’ 100m=Dmytro Kardynal
• Bronze Medal in the Year 10 Boys’ Javelin= Max Reeves
These are fantastic achievements and reflect the dedication and effort shown by our athletes throughout the year.
Congratulations to all students who took part. We look forward to seeing their continued success in future athletics competitions.
