The History Department focuses on helping all students to develop a thorough understanding of the development of Britain from the time of the Norman Conquest to the modern day, and how this has shaped our place in Europe and the world. We teach a chronological curriculum that shows how historical events and people have changed thoughts and ideas, and how these have combined to help Britain become the influential nation it is today.
Our History curriculum helps students to develop all of the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed at GCSE and A-Level. We follow the Edexcel A History Specification at GCSE, and cover a range of Medieval and Contemporary topics that our students can relate to and excel at. History is one of the most popular subjects at GCSE and we are focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for all of our students.
