World Book Day celebrations – March 2023

World Book Day celebrations took place throughout last week, focusing on titles from our ’16 before 16′ reading list. First thing Monday morning students got our Read-A-Thon underway, setting their own goal of pages to read, with sponsorships donated to the World Book Day charity. On Tuesday after school students from year 7 and 8 watched the screen adaptation of R J Palacio’s novel ‘Wonder’ with popcorn and snacks. We held activities in the library including giving away lots of goodies including bookmarks, vouchers and over 200 free World Book Day titles. The week ended with the closing date of our Art Competition, our students have dedicated much thought and detail into their entries leaving us with the very difficult task of choosing winners, this will be announced and prizes given in assemblies next week.
